Founded in 2003, « La Grande Famille de Procida &
Ischia »
is a non profit-making association declared under the French law of 1st July 1901
[Statutes
 ].
Its main
objective is the preservation of the
archives of the islands
of Procida and Ischia, located in the bay of Naples, Italy.

In the 19th century,
millions of Italians left their native country and emigrated throughout the
world in search of a new life. A large number of them originated from
the islands of Procida and Ischia. Fishermen, tradesman or farmers, they
populated the French North Africa and the United
Stated, others went to Argentina or Australia. Today their descendants are Italian,
French, American, Argentinean, etc. |
